Leoni Jansen featuring Lucas Dols Live Concert at Kamalaya Koh Samui

Sunday, 17th June 2018
Tuesday, 19th June 2018
At 20.30 in Yantra Hall

Enjoy an entertaining evening in concert with accomplished Dutch singer-songwriter, Leoni Jansen.  Leoni’s primary musical influences lie somewhere between Celtic and Americana, but she has also collaborated with many established names from world music, such as Youssou N’Dour and Angelique Kidjo.

As a performer, Leoni is naturally attracted to songs that strike an emotional chord and convey a positive message.  She is also famous for creating musical programs on a wider scale that bridge different cultures. As a theatre director, Leoni was co-responsible for the hit show, Female Factory which featured13 top female stars from 10 different countries.  Her work received royal recognition in 2006 when she was knighted by Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands for her contribution to world music and for empowering women in music.

Accompanying Leoni on stage will be Lucas Dols, a professional double bass player who has performed at the Montreal Jazz Festival.  Lucas is also a passionate workshop facilitator and the founder of Sounds of Change, an NGO bringing the power of music to people living in conflict areas.  He believes music can help to heal the emotional wounds of war, boost creativity and stimulate compassionate communication.
