Devadasi - Dance of the Heart
By Founder and Dancer Paramjyoti

Tuesday 24th October 2017
Saturday 11th November 2017
18.00 – 19.30 at Yantra Hall

The Dance Ritual The Dance Ritual ´s nature is one of shared prayer. Paramjyoti, tuned to her heart, is sensitive to the given atmosphere with its people, their emotional and mental states and integrates these energies into her spontaneous movement and instant choreography. The people in the audience can in addition choose to participate actively, e.g. by singing along a simple spiritual song or by eventually even joining into the dance.

In one part of the Dance Ritual Paramjyoti offers to dance in dedication for Individuals. She stands in front of the person who wishes to receive such a mirror reflection, and allows the dance to unfold. In her own words: “Empty, I stand before you. Anything that falls into that empty space takes form and dance springs forth”. These dances last about 2 – 5 minutes each. There is no claim for any healing results through receiving such a dance, though many cases are known in which it has trigged self-healing. It is highly recommended to request an Individually Dedicated Dance as your heart commands you to do so and this wish emerges out of a deeper motivation than mere curiosity. This way the dance will be more dynamic, articulate and meaningful: it can touch a concrete issue and bring upon recognition, change and transformation. You are welcome to request an Individual Dance Offering, whether you are in a life challenging situation or whether you want to take a courageous step into unknown surprise or reasonless bliss. The last part of the Dance Ritual usually consist of a Whirling Prayer, similar than what we know from the Sufi Tradition, yet, altogether unique. Paramjyoti will be accompanied for this Dance Ritual by a talented group of local Thai Classical Musicians. Dance of the Heart is a devotional prayer expressed in the language of graceful physical movement. It is a mudra which serves as a doorway to the Highest Mystical Truth and Supreme Knowledge.

This event is Complimentary for all Kamalaya Guests.
Entrance fee is 300 baht for Samui Residents and Vacationers.
All proceeds will go toward Kamalaya’s Charity Fund.
